Chinese batik is one of the traditional folk printing and dyeing crafts. It is a traditional hand-dyeing technique that uses wax as an anti-dyeing material for anti-dyeing. Most of them are fermented from the stems and leaves of plants such as indigo and woad to make indigo dye. First, wash the cotton cloth clean, then pinch the cooked taro into a paste and apply it to the back of the cloth. After drying in the sun, grind it flat and smooth. Place the cloth flat on a wooden board or tabletop, put beeswax in a ceramic bowl or metal jar, use fire to melt the wax, and then dip a copper knife into the wax to start painting. First, determine the outline, and then draw various beautiful patterns. The method of immersion dyeing is to place the painted wax sheets in a blue indigo dyeing vat, and generally soak each piece for five to six days. After the first soaking, take it out and let it dry, and it will turn into a light blue color. Soak it a few more times to obtain a deep blue color. After washing, boiling with clean water to remove the wax, and rinsing, the fabric will show distinct blue and white patterns.
